Bridging Somatic Therapy, Trauma Research, and Psychedelic Science

Clinician-researcher exploring the intersection of body-based psychotherapy, PTSD, and emerging therapeutic interventions

Background

About

I'm Edo Maimon, an integrative somatic psychotherapist and neurofeedback therapist. Over the past decade, I have accompanied people through trauma, life transitions, crises, and the moments when they look for a way back to themselves.

My path to this work was shaped by deep life experiences: combat service, navigating a serious illness, and significant life changes. I learned that the body carries both pain and wisdom, and that healing begins when we make room for both.

I currently work as a psychotherapist and neurofeedback therapist at the Veterans' Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic at Rambam Health Care Campus, operated in partnership with the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Alongside this, I serve as group facilitator and head of research at K'far Ma'avar, a non-profit supporting reservist soldiers in their transition from war back to civilian life.

I hold an MSc in Life Sciences and certifications in integrative somatic psychotherapy, yoga instruction, hydrotherapy, and group facilitation. I am currently completing an MSW in Clinical Social Work with a trauma specialization at the University of Haifa. My background also includes leadership roles in health-tech startups.

My work bridges clinical practice with rigorous research. I'm particularly interested in how body-based and experiential interventions can be studied, measured, and integrated into evidence-based trauma care.

Cold Water Therapy and Post-Traumatic Stress: An Observational Study

A 9-week observational study examining the effects of a structured Cold Water Therapy (CWT) workshop on post-traumatic symptoms in Israeli adults exposed to potentially traumatic events since October 7, 2023. The workshop combines structured psychoeducational dialogue, integrative breathwork, and guided cold water immersion across four sessions.

Practice

Clinical Work

My therapeutic approach integrates talk therapy with gentle body-based work - breath, movement, and somatic awareness, within a safe, attuned relational space. I work at the pace of the client's nervous system, not a predetermined protocol.

I specialize in working with combat veterans with PTSD, people navigating life transitions, and individuals seeking to reconnect with their bodies and spirit after trauma.

  • Somatic-integrative psychotherapy
  • Neurofeedback
  • Somatic Experiencing (SE)
  • Trauma-sensitive yoga
  • Group facilitation
